Make PERFLIGHT the "control tower" for the Community folder by:
Scanning the Community folder to discover native addons and foreign junctions
Displaying Community-resident addons in Card and Table views alongside managed addons
Detecting and advising on foreign junctions (created by GSX, Addon Linker, etc.)
Detecting conflicts when the same addon exists in both Community and a managed library
Providing orphaned junction cleanup tools
Watching the Community folder for real-time changes
Building contextual intelligence patterns for well-known addons (Navigraph, GSX, FSLTL) via the existing Intelligence layer
Goals:
Give users complete visibility into what is in their Community folder at all times
Surface Community-resident addons in the same views as managed addons
Detect foreign junctions and advise users on unexpected Community folder contents
Detect conflicts between Community addons and managed library addons
Provide tools for orphaned junction cleanup (replacing manual cleanup)
Deliver immediate value on fresh install by scanning Community before any libraries are added
==== original writeup by @naughtygnome ====
There are a number of add-ons that only allow you to directly install to the community folder, these can obviously be moved to a library later and activated via Perflight (or addon-manager) but in PERFLIGHT there is no way to see those add-ons as installed.
For those addons that require installation in the Community folder, if we move them out to a library, resolving the issue above then it breaks the updating of them and we have to delete them from the library (or move them back first) then update / re-install the add-on Addon-Linker sorts this issue by having a combined view of those in the community folder and those in libraries for easy activation / deactivation
I would like to request a feature similar to that so we can see add-ons directly installed in the community folder. :)
