Documentation Library (PDF and Word)
We would like to build a page where users can browse through all the PDF files and pieces of documentation available by scanning the addon folders. “Show me the docs for the 777-200ER” etc.
Themes
Add the ability for users to change themes and some sort of extensible way for devs? Maybe using something like tailwind?
Harden requirements for valid add-on
Ensure that manifest.json files contain the bare minimum fields we need. Testing revealed that the only data required as of v1.2.4 was this: "title": "Honolulu Control Facility", "creator": "SebPartof2", "release_notes": {"neutral": {"LastUpdate": "","OlderHistory": ""
Expanded User Settings Configuration
We would consider building out a comprehensive "User Settings" area. This will be the central hub for customizing the app experience, including default paths, UI preferences, and toggle behaviors, giving you more control over how Perflight integrates with your workflow. Source: https://github.com/jimpdx/perflight/issues/57
Retro UI Mode
For pilots who appreciate a bit of nostalgia, we are exploring a "Retro UI" mode. This setting would reskin the Perflight interface with a classic aesthetic, giving the application a distinct look and feel compared to the standard modern interface. This is an extreme and somewhat wacky idea which could give way to multiple app “themes” of which “Retro” could be one? Save this for a rainy day when we literally have no other problems to solve Ref: Github Issue #38 https://github.com/jimpdx/perflight/issues/38

Group Addons by "Source" and link to EXE
On the INIT page you can designate which “Service” apps you use, such as Orbx Installer, PMDG Operations, Aerosoft One, etc. But we don’t have a way of determining the actual source of each of your Addons. We do provide a dropdown of options to select, which include websites like Flightsim.to or SimPlaza.org. This feature would allow users to view their addons by “Source” and relate the Source to the Service application. The actual usage patterns around this change are unclear. But would love to hear ideas. A place to visualize which addons you get from which “source”. For example, many airports and aircraft are actually sold from many marketplaces - Orbx, Contrail, iniBuilds, etc - and it becomes REALLY difficult to remember where you have to go to update the addon when changes are published.
Support for packages with multiple components
Some addon folders appear to contain multiple liveries inside them, even though they are treated as a single addon from a PERFLIGHT perspective. Make the addon data model more "multiple" aware? Offer users the choice of selecting from other promo/hero images which exist inside "multiple" packages? Display some sort of "multi" pill in the UI? The most obvious example is PMDG (777-200ER shown here) Or 738 shown here:
Adding startup parameters to Flight Service apps
Let users add command-line start-up parameters to any EXE service they launch from PERFLIGHT, so tools that require specific flags can be started in the right mode (for example, running GSX/FSDT's Couatl_Updater.exe with /SILENT /INSTALLMODE=TRUE for an unattended update). A simple optional "Launch parameters" field on the service — entered space-separated, just like a desktop shortcut or Steam launch options — will be saved with the service and applied every time it's launched, with no command-line knowledge required. The underlying launch system already supports passing arguments; this adds the missing UI so users no longer have to edit the database by hand.
Automatically add service apps installed in default locations
Add a button so users can automatically search for and add all the default services which are installed in the default file path locations.

Modern Installer & Seamless Update System (Epic 6)
PERFLIGHT is currently in active development with multiple completed epics for addon management, state management, backend architecture, pilot services, and global notification system. The application is approaching early access readiness, but the current manual build and distribution process creates barriers: Installation friction: Traditional NSIS wizard feels outdated compared to competing tools Update overhead: Manual downloads and reinstalls create support burden and version fragmentation Trust barriers: Unsigned installers trigger SmartScreen warnings, reducing user confidence Testing velocity: No automated way to push updates to early access testers for rapid validation This enhancement integrates with the existing global notification system (Epic 5) to provide in-app update notifications and progress tracking, completing the user experience loop for software distribution.
Minimize app to System Tray
Either with or without a specific user setting (we have another story for multiple new user settings will add this to the list) as a User I would like to minimize the app into my system tray for easier use.
Addon Dependencies
Some addons require other addons to properly function. These are often reference to as “dependencies”. As a PERFLIGHT user, I would like to be able to specify if there are dependent addons (“When I enable KXYZ airport I need ABC Object Library to enable with it”). This feature exists within Addon Linker and PERFLIGHT should provide feature parity if possible.
Integration with SimConnect
Integrating SimComment SDK could allow PERFLIGHT to enable the following types of functionality: Detecting the status of the simulator (running or not running) User state (in menus, flight loaded) Flight telemetry (on the ground, en route)
Auto manage/organize library files [PRO]
A function that will auto organize the file systems of all you add-ons. Make a neat folder structure for scenery, aircraft liveries etc for example that it auto applies.
Add Airline Smart Actions to Checklist
Parse the Airline from your active Flight Plan and offer to match and enable addons related to your airline (UAL/United, SWA/Southwest, etc)

Multiple Checklists (v1.4)
As a PERFLIGHT user, I would like to create and run multiple different checklists for different scenarios (cold and dark, turnaround, special ops, etc).
Bulk addon editing (v1.4)
Allow a user to select multiple addons to edit a shared value such as (and primarily) Source
Duplicate addons in Libraries and Community (v1.4)
Story 11.5 was removed from v1.3.0 and will be addressed in the next release I want to be warned when the same addon exists both in my Community folder and in a managed library, So that I can avoid duplicate loads that cause unpredictable behavior in MSFS.
When creating a new set, the UI should remain to allow multiple additions of addons (v1.4)
Current: When creating a new set, you can only add one addon before the UI is gone and then you have to add more addons to the set in the original interface Nice to have: When creating a new set, the same UI should remain so that more addons can be added to that same set by searching more. In the screenshot below you can see there is no addon selected. As soon as you search and select an addon the UI goes and the set is created. The UI should remain open until “Create Set” is pressed after adding the first addon. Thank you! Apologies again if this is already suggested or is in the pipeline. Nice to have.
Option to duplicate set (v1.4)
Perhaps in the Edit Set screen at the bottom, it would be great to have the option to duplicate a set if you just want to replace a certain add on rather than having to make a new one altogether. Just a nice to have, saves some time Apologies in advance if this is already in the pipeline or mentioned before!

Add support for custom addon categories
As a PERFLIGHT user, I would like to be able to define my own custom categories from the DATA page, as well as customizing the existing ones to match my organization system.
Still need to override EXE selection for MS Store
Some users report that the app is not finding the executable, even with 2024 installations. Or the assumed location does not work correctly. We may need to allow MS Store installation the ability to lock in a fixed EXE location.
Community Folder Addon Management (Epic 11)
Make PERFLIGHT the "control tower" for the Community folder by: Scanning the Community folder to discover native addons and foreign junctions Displaying Community-resident addons in Card and Table views alongside managed addons Detecting and advising on foreign junctions (created by GSX, Addon Linker, etc.) Detecting conflicts when the same addon exists in both Community and a managed library Providing orphaned junction cleanup tools Watching the Community folder for real-time changes Building contextual intelligence patterns for well-known addons (Navigraph, GSX, FSLTL) via the existing Intelligence layer Goals: Give users complete visibility into what is in their Community folder at all times Surface Community-resident addons in the same views as managed addons Detect foreign junctions and advise users on unexpected Community folder contents Detect conflicts between Community addons and managed library addons Provide tools for orphaned junction cleanup (replacing manual cleanup) Deliver immediate value on fresh install by scanning Community before any libraries are added ==== original writeup by @naughtygnome ==== There are a number of add-ons that only allow you to directly install to the community folder, these can obviously be moved to a library later and activated via Perflight (or addon-manager) but in PERFLIGHT there is no way to see those add-ons as installed. For those addons that require installation in the Community folder, if we move them out to a library, resolving the issue above then it breaks the updating of them and we have to delete them from the library (or move them back first) then update / re-install the add-on Addon-Linker sorts this issue by having a combined view of those in the community folder and those in libraries for easy activation / deactivation I would like to request a feature similar to that so we can see add-ons directly installed in the community folder. :)
Identify which Library an addon is in from the addon page
It would be good to identify which library an addon is in. I know here the Lancaster is enabled but the one showing as disabled is the 2020 version. I’ve added my Orbx 2020 library to allow me to enable 2020 addons in 2024 to test if they work but with out click on the “Folder” button I can’t see if that is the 2024 version or the 2020 version.
Append `Enabled Only` or `Disabled Only` to Library header bar
It is easy to forget if you are only showing addons which are enabled or disabled. Particularly troubling when you think the app is broken because it is showing nothing!
Enhanced "Move" detection for addon folder names (Issue #003)
The scanner's move/rename detection logic incorrectly identifies unrelated addons as "moves" when folder names are similar, causing addon ID reuse and metadata conflicts.
Help: Unable to uninstall Perflight for update
Hey team, Apologies if this isn’t the right channel for this. There’s a new Perflight update I’m trying to install which requires me to unininstall the current version (understandable). I’m running into an error uninstalling the app due to no uninstall.exe in my installed path of Perflight. I have also tried using the checkbox of the Perflight Installer (which I downloaded via Flightsim.to for the update) - no success. Is there another place Perflight is installed where I can access the uninstaller? I have currently installed Perflight in a custom location in my MSFS applications folder. Thanks for all your help and I appreciate the fact you’re taking my bugs and features onboard!
Bug > Feature - Addon Source Selection
A user reported a bug that choosing “iniBuilds” as the addon Source did not stick/save. This is a real bug, as the app was only legit saving 9 of the 17 options due to an oversight. The plan is to fix this right by moving the source list into a database table, allow users to add to it with future “Other” text inputs, making those sources valid for other addons as well.
Modify Community folder selection to allow parent folder
Even though we made a big deal out of this in the tutorial video, I would like to modify the app so it supports directly selecting the Community folder or the immediate parent folder. That way either way works!
Fix: display Simbrief flightplans with appropriate units
If the flightplan was created with “Units” of “kilograms” then display them as such. There were no temperatures being output on the Flightplan page so no need for a toggle.
